According to Chancellor Kurz, Austria is currently at the beginning of a second corona wave. On Saturday, 869 new infections were reported in only 24 hours, 444 of them in Vienna alone. But also in other European countries the numbers are currently rising dramatically. An overview.
The situation in Europe
In terms of population, Spain currently has the highest number of new infections. Here, 144.1 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants have been reported in the last 7 days. For comparison: In Austria, the figure is 34.6, i.e. about a quarter of these cases. The increases in France, Czech Republic, Bosnia, Montenegro and Moldova are also dramatic.

More than 10,000 new infections in France for the first time
